The Beginnings

The Foundation Phase is a highly specialized and fundamental phase as it is where the learner’s journey of lifelong learning begins. Our Foundation Phase boasts 12 dedicated teachers as well as isiZulu, Afrikaans, Music and Media specialists, who share a common passion – the well-being of each and every child in their care and their goal is to help the learners develop socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually by building on their previous knowledge and providing them with the skills necessary to reach their full potential.

The Breakdown

The Foundation Phase currently consists of 3 classes in each Grade from Grade R to Grade 3. The beautifully decorated and air-conditioned classrooms provide an ideal climate for the learners and it enhances the teaching and learning process.

Each teacher in the Foundation Phase is assisted by a volunteer who comes in once or twice a week to assist with listening to Reading or to help with children who are experiencing problems with aspects of the curriculum. The reading material and structured reading programme is constantly being updated.

Our Classes

In Grade R we combine the enjoyment of free play with the excitement of learning. Our fantasy, outdoor and creative areas add to the learning of Mathematics, English Home Language and Lifeskills. Our Grade R programme includes early development of sporting and swimming skills through fun activities.

Frequently Asked Questions

How and when to apply is easy. When the time is right, we make it known on our school website and in local newspapers and media.

We take boys from Grade R to Grade 3, but thereafter we become an all-girls school. This is because we do not have the space for the sporting and other facilities that growing boys require.

In summer, swimming lessons are incorporated into the curriculum and in winter this is replaced by physical education lessons.

You can get our official school uniform from school uniform suppliers like GEM school wear.

A Junior and Senior Care Centre facility is available on school days for peace of mind for working parents. It must however be stressed that this facility is an ‘extra’ and is in no way a part of the school’s formal academic programme. The Care Centre is not open during school holidays.
